Road Trip!!! Day 4 - Santa Fe, New Mexico to Woodward, Oklahoma

After a quick breakfast (Blissy’s coconut French toast looked amazing!), we headed toward Texas. The landscape gradually became less hilly and more arid — in fact, the plains of Texas look a lot like the high plains of Wyoming, with no mountains in the distance.

We rolled into Amarillo, singing along LOUDLY to George Strait’s Amarillo by Morning. What did you expect!? We stopped for real Texas BBQ at Tyler’s followed by banana pudding, because, why wouldn’t we??? So, so yummy! Then on through the rolling hills to OKLAHOMA!

Almost seven hours, and 500 miles, later, we pulled into Woodward, Oklahoma! Big hugs for Hallie and Sloane, several glasses of wine, and lots of giggles — and we got to meet Lefty, the newest in the Aussie Possie.

Overall, it was a good day — easy driving, and so good to be with our Oklahoma girls! And then we got the news that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg was gone. Such a sad day in our world. Rest in peace, RBG. You inspired so many during your time on Earth. I guess there was a reason I chose to wear a t-shirt with her likeness when I woke up yesterday. :(

From Oklahoma (where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain!) with love,
